Ran an 800m grass trial at Conghua on August 24th (running positions: 2-2-5), tracking the leaders and running smoothly. Ran a 1000m grass trial at Conghua on June 22nd (running positions: 3-6-5), running steadily but only average. Ran a 1200m dirt trial at Conghua on June 4th (running positions: 1-2-5), leading near the rail, but the early pace weakened on the straight. After a long layoff and starting this season, he ran in another 1200m dirt race in April and was very disappointing; while he could get going, his closing speed declined, resulting in a heavy defeat. After three barrier trials, he showed no improvement in the workouts. In past short trips over Happy Valley turf, he has lost all three races; time difference in the group and a lack of outstanding finishing kick. The connection between jockey and trainer does not seem particularly harmonious, winning was only achieved by settling in a good position tracking the leaders and having favorable draw, as no clear opportunity presented itself.
