Previously in April, he ran poorly over 1800m on dirt; slow to leave the stalls and settled in the rear, with his closing speed waning near the finish, leading to a heavy defeat. A recent trial showed no improvement. Trying dirt over a mile again for the first time at this distance, he carries an extra four pounds in this race. The trip does not suit him, and his time figures are weak. He is at a distinct disadvantage. If he settles in the rear, his closing speed may not match the competition's, and the jockey-trainer partnership is not ideal. He is not a contender for this race.
