On August 21st, he ran a dirt trial over 1200m (Straight run pace, no real momentum; riding position sequence: 5-6-9). This is his first start this season. Three months ago, he performed reasonably well over 1400m on Sha Tin turf; slow out of the gate, settled towards the rear. A recent trial run did not match his pace. He ran a conditioning gallop on dirt over a mile before the race; time figures were decent, and he drew an ideal barrier. Settling in towards the rear for the run, his finishing kick was the sharpest in the field. Overall assessment places him among the top contenders for this race, and he handles the closing stages well. Although he needs to carry an extra 11 pounds this time and faces some positional disadvantages, coupled with no outstanding connection between jockey and trainer, he is suitable as a secondary contender.
