8/9 (Dirt Trial 1200m: 9-8-6) ran at a cruising pace, caught up with the pack. Making its first start this season, it performed respectably in a 1600m Sha Tin trial three months ago. It was slow getting out of the gate, settled back in the pack, showed impetus in the middle section, and pushed again in the final two sections. Fortunately, it was not far behind, finishing only three lengths down—a high standard. A trial session showed that it still needs more experience. Stepping up in class to run over a mile on dirt, the horse carries 17 pounds less this time. Having won two times previously in this trip, its draw is acceptable, and its finishing kick is second to none in this group. The jockey pairing with the horse seems suitable, and even if time or the situation in the field is slightly unfavorable this race, it remains a contender.
