IMPLIED VOLATILITY, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 13.2.09 by order of the Stewards (stable transfer). After being boxed, TATTENHALL DELIGHT became fractious in its stall and as the start was effected, reared and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground. Having in mind TATTENHALL DELIGHT’s previous record, the horse will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial. Near the 900 Metres, GOLDEN BALL was checked severely away from the heels of BLUE MAGIC (Apprentice T H So) which itself was steadied after shifting in and striking the heels of SPLENDID SAILS. At the same time, GOLDEN BALL was tightened for room inside VILLAGE KID which was carried in by ODE TO JOY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from COSMO SUCCESSOR (C K Tong) after initially being carried in by that horse. TOUT VA BIEN and TATTENHALL DELIGHT, which were following, were hampered in consequence and shifted wider. After this, TATTENHALL DELIGHT travelled wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. Although the check to GOLDEN BALL was one of significance, the Stewards did not believe the incident was attributable to any one rider. Apprentice So was told to ensure it is safe for him to shift ground prior to doing so and C K Tong was told to exercise care. At the 300 Metres, SPLENDID SAILS was checked and shifted out when disappointed for running inside VICTORY SPEEDY which was hanging in. TATTENHALL DELIGHT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TATTENHALL DELIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. FULL BLESSINGS and COSMO SUCCESSOR were sent for sampling.
