Steward Report Predict Pace Map
As the start was effected, ELECTRONIC MASTER, which had been fractious in its stall and was being assisted by an attendant, threw its head up, sat back and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. On jumping, KING CREOLE was taken back. ASIAN CITRUS began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. SUNSHINE BOY was slow into stride. Near the 1100 Metres, SPEEDY TYCOON and BIG KAHUNA bumped, became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded for room inside KINGSTON MARBLE (C K Tong) which initially got its head on the side and shifted in of its own accord and was then carried in further by OWNERS LAD (J Lloyd) which also shifted ground. Both C K Tong and J Lloyd were told to exercise greater care. Approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres, BIG KAHUNA shifted wider after bumping with SPEEDY TYCOON. KING CREOLE, which was following, was steadied to avoid the heels of BIG KAHUNA. Near the 200 Metres, ASIAN CITRUS was steadied when awkwardly placed inside GO STITCH which shifted in slightly. At the 50 Metres, KINGSTON MARBLE, which had been drifting in, was bumped by SUNSHINE BOY which when closing the race off and having some difficulty obtaining clear running was steadied away from the heels of FAIRWOOD CROWN. For the major part of the race, FAIRWOOD CROWN travelled wide and without cover. ASIAN CITRUS, LOYAL ARMY and OWNERS LAD were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BIG KAHUNA had lost its left hind plate.
