CONQUEROR, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 9.7.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, CONQUEROR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FULL HOUSE was slow to begin. GLOBAL RULER began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped MORE THAN YOU WISH. AMBITIOUS OWNER was slow to begin and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed and consequently raced back in the field. After being crossed by AMAZING AWARD after the 1200 Metres, GLITTERING proved difficult to settle and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING AWARD. Passing the 400 Metres, AMBITIOUS OWNER had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching the 250 Metres, GLITTERING was shifted to the outside of the heels of MIGHTY FEELING when unable to obtain clear running between that horse and AMAZING AWARD. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, THE KID got its head on the side and lay in. Near the 150 Metres, GRAND GENERAL was steadied when crowded for room between AMBITIOUS OWNER and SUCCESSFUL ERA which shifted out slightly under pressure. Near the 100 Metres, GLITTERING was struck across the nose by the whip of Apprentice T H So (SUPER PEPPER) and then over the concluding stages SUPPER PEPPER and GLITTERING raced tight when GLITTERING was taken out by MIGHTY FEELING. Throughout the race, SUPER PEPPER travelled wide and without cover. The performance of MORE THAN YOU WISH, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MORE THAN YOU WISH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that THE KID had lost its right front plate. MIGHTY FEELING, DANESOUTH, SUCCESSFUL ERA and SUPER PEPPER were sent for sampling. <11/7/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that REAL DRAGON was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, REAL DRAGON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
