ALWAYS SOMETHING began only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded for room between ALPINEFIELD and AXIOM which shifted in. Near the 1600 Metres and again after the 700 Metres, I SMELL MONEY (W M Lai) became badly unbalanced in its action. This resulted in W M Lai easing I SMELL MONEY out of the race after the 700 Metres. A veterinary inspection of I SMELL MONEY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Trainer T P Yung will be interviewed prior to the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 22 June 2014 regarding the racing future of the horse. It was noted that I SMELL MONEY had previously performed in a similar manner a number of seasons ago at Happy Valley. The Stewards ruled that I SMELL MONEY is not permitted to be entered for races until the Stewards make a determination on the horse’s racing future. Making the turn after the winning post on the first occasion, GRIFFINDOR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CARTOON FAY FAY which was racing tight inside PERFECT CHEERS. Approaching the 1400 Metres, I SMELL MONEY shifted out when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of EMPEROR CLAUDIUS, resulting in CARTOON FAY FAY being crowded for room inside PERFECT CHEERS. For a short distance after this, I SMELL MONEY continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of EMPEROR CLAUDIUS and approaching the 1300 Metres was shifted to the outside of that horse. At the 300 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET was steadied when attempting to improve between AXIOM and EMPEROR CLAUDIUS where there was insufficient room. Then near the 250 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET was checked when persevering for a run between AXIOM and EMPEROR CLAUDIUS where there was insufficient room. In this incident, FORGIVE AND FORGET bumped the hindquarters of AXIOM, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced. HORSE APLENTY lost its left hind plate during the running of the race. A veterinary inspection of PERFECT CHEERS and AXIOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. AUTUMN GOLD and ALPINEFIELD were sent for sampling.
