ALPHA HEDGE began only fairly, shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MAGNIFICENT. From wide barriers, BEST ALLIANCE and SONIC FIGHTER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SUCH A HAPPINESS got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHARIZARD. After this, SUCH A HAPPINESS continued to prove difficult to settle when being steadied to obtain cover behind SUNSHINE WARRIOR. After obtaining cover behind SUNSHINE WARRIOR approaching the 1300 Metres, SUCH A HAPPINESS was then very awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse for some distance. Passing the 1000 Metres, BEST ALLIANCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENFOLDING. Approaching the 700 Metres, ALPHA HEDGE was steadied away from the heels of UNICORNBABY which shifted back in after being taken wider by REEL BIZZY which shifted out from behind MAGNIFICENT. CHARIZARD made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly. At the entrance to the Straight, CHAIRMAN LO shifted out and bumped REEL BIZZY, resulting in CHAIRMAN LO becoming unbalanced. Near the 75 Metres, CHAIRMAN LO was bumped by MAGNIFICENT (H T Mo) which shifted out under pressure. Then over the concluding stages, CHAIRMAN LO continued to race tight outside MAGNIFICENT. H T Mo was severely reprimanded and told that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding with the whip and straighten his mounts. BEST ALLIANCE, REEL BIZZY and MAGNIFICENT were sent for sampling.
