SEVENTH SEA was slow to begin. BIG FORTUNE shifted out at the start and bumped HANDSOME REBEL. WIND N GRASS shifted out at the start and bumped SUPER DOBBIN. After this, from a wide barrier, SUPER DOBBIN was steadied and shifted across behind runners. From a wide barrier, NORDIC WARRIOR was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Near the 1000 Metres, YOUNG LEGEND was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside WIND N GRASS which was racing tight inside LE TERROIR (M L Yeung) which shifted in before being directed back out to relieve the tightening to YOUNG LEGEND. M L Yeung was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room to runners on his inside in similar circumstances. In the early stages, VICTORIAM was left racing wide and without cover and after the 800 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead passing the 600 Metres at which stage LE TERROIR was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching the 700 Metres, YOUNG LEGEND commenced to travel keenly and shifted in abruptly when checked away from the heels of WIND N GRASS, resulting in SEVENTH SEA being bumped on the hindquarters by YOUNG LEGEND and becoming unbalanced. NORDIC WARRIOR, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. Rounding the Home Turn, SHINING GEM was awkwardly placed behind BEAUTY AMIGO. YOUNG LEGEND had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 200 Metres was directed to the outside of WIND N GRASS to obtain a run. Passing the 200 Metres, VICTORIAM raced tight outside HANDSOME REBEL which shifted out under pressure. Also passing the 200 Metres, NORDIC WARRIOR shifted to the outside of BEAUTY AMIGO after being disappointed for running between that horse and SEVENTH SEA. Over the concluding stages, BEAUTY AMIGO was awkwardly placed inside the heels of NORDIC WARRIOR which was racing tight inside BIG FORTUNE. A veterinary inspection of YOUNG LEGEND, BEAUTY AMIGO, LE TERROIR and WIND N GRASS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DIAMOND BRILLIANT, SHINING GEM and NORDIC WARRIOR were sent for sampling. <1/5/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>LE TERROIR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. LE TERROIR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer L Ho yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, LE TERROIR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
