SABINA began awkwardly. ENERGETIC BOY and ALMIGHTY bumped at the start. Shortly after the start, RAISING SUN raced tight between HEALTHY BLUEBERRY and UPSIDE OF ANGER which shifted out. From an outside barrier, ALICE TOO was aggressively ridden in the early stages, however, failed to muster speed and throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Passing the 700 Metres, CLASSIC ENERGY hung in momentarily despite the efforts of its rider, O Doleuze, resulting in AMAZING CHOICE being checked. ROCKET AND GOLD, which was following AMAZING CHOICE, was severely checked to avoid that horse`s heels and shifted out, resulting in BEST NOODLE also being severely checked when crowded for room inside TREMENDOUS PLUS which itself became badly unbalanced in this incident. Near the 400 Metres, ROCKET AND GOLD was severely checked when crowded for room between TREMENDOUS PLUS which became badly unbalanced and shifted in after being bumped by ROCKET AND GOLD and CLASSIC ENERGY which, when giving ground abruptly, shifted out and away from AMAZING CHOICE. The racing manners of CLASSIC ENERGY, which also finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC ENERGY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DAILY DOUBLE was steadied rounding the Home Turn when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDEN BALL. The performance of ALICE TOO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ALICE TOO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. B Doyle (DAILY DOUBLE) was fined a sum of $3,000 for weighing in 2 lbs over the weight that he weighed out at. A veterinary inspection of SABINA and ENERGETIC BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. BEST NOODLE, UPSIDE OF ANGER and AMAZING CHOICE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that both ALMIGHTY and RAISING SUN had lost their left front plates and GOLDEN BALL was lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN BALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
