The Veterinary Officer reported that when being paraded, it was noted that KING MOSSMAN was displaying mild conjunctivitis to both eyes. He said that, in his opinion, KING MOSSMAN was suitable to race. FAIR NAVIGATOR was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, FAIR NAVIGATOR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GREEN ZONE was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between DIAMOND KNIGHT and DANE PATROL which shifted out. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, FAIR NAVIGATOR failed to muster speed. Approaching the 400 Metres, DIAMOND KNIGHT was crowded for room between LUCKY RED (B Doyle) and ETERNAL BEAUTY which, when being shifted to the inside of DANE PATROL, was taken in further by that horse which got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily. A short distance later, DIAMOND KNIGHT was steadied when further crowded for room between ETERNAL BEAUTY and LUCKY RED which shifted out under pressure. B Doyle was advised to make every effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. Over the final 400 Metres, KING MOSSMAN got its head on the side, hung out and proved difficult to ride. A veterinary inspection of FAIR NAVIGATOR after the race did not show any significant findings. SPACE RACE and KING MOSSMAN were sent for sampling.
