After being loaded into the barriers, CIRCUIT HASSLER became fractious and lunged at the front gates. CIRCUIT HASSLER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT HASSLER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. LIMITLESS shifted out at the start and bumped BASIC TRILOGY. LIMITLESS was then steadied to obtain cover. After this BASIC TRILOGY, despite being hard ridden, failed to muster speed and raced well back. HAPPY PLACE was steadied and shifted across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1000 Metres, PRAWN BABA was shifted out away from the heels of STAR MAJESTIC and raced wide and without cover. HAPPILABABY lost its right hind plate after the 500 Metres. Rounding the Home Turn, LIMITLESS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPILABABY. Passing the 400 Metres, RAGHU raced tight between HAPPILABABY and WHO DAT SINGA which shifted in. Approaching the 300 Metres, LIMITLESS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HELENE SUPER STAR. Passing the 300 Metres, RAGHU was shifted to the outside of WHO DAT SINGA when disappointed for running inside that horse. Near the 100 Metres, LIMITLESS got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of SOLAR HEI HEI, resulting in LIMITLESS having to be checked out away from the heels of that horse to continue improving. When questioned, Mr J Moore, the trainer of LET US WIN, stated that with a light weight he asked Apprentice K K Chiong to ride LET US WIN in the lead if possible. He said when the horse was successful prior to arriving in Hong Kong, it had raced up on the speed and he had hoped that it would be able to perform well by being ridden in a forward position today with a light weight. He said he expected that CIRCUIT HASSLER would also go forward, however, he did not believe that the race would be run at a solid tempo and as such he felt that there was an opportunity for the horse to be ridden in a forward position in today's race to see if it would perform better than it had been. Apprentice Chiong stated that after having to ride LET US WIN along for some distance in the early stages to cross HELENE SUPER STAR, she had to continue to ride her mount along in order to maintain her position when SOLAR HEI HEI improved to the outside of LET US WIN. Mr Moore was advised that his explanation would be noted. Apprentice Chiong was advised that given the tempo between the 1600 Metres and the 1200 Metres, she must ensure that she rides her mounts in such a manner so that they can finish off their races as best as they are able. PRAWN BABA and SOLAR HEI HEI were sent for sampling. The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that WHO DAT SINGA was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, WHO DAT SINGA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
