SUPERNATURAL began only fairly. AMRITSARIA shifted out abruptly at the start, resulting in HAPPY BEAUTY being badly hampered and losing ground. AMRITSARIA again shifted out abruptly after travelling a short distance, resulting in CELESTIAL ARROW being inconvenienced. Following these incidents, both HAPPY BEAUTY and CELESTIAL ARROW were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Rounding the Home Turn, CELESTIAL ARROW was steadied away from the heels of SUPERNATURAL (M Chadwick) which shifted out when not properly clear. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. The performance of GOLDEN PARTNERS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN PARTNERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, K C Ng stated that he had to ride FAITHFUL BOY along in the early stages to cross AUDACITY so as to lead the race as instructed. He said after reaching the lead near the 1500 Metres, he attempted to steady the tempo on FAITHFUL BOY, but the horse travelled keenly and, despite his best endeavours, set a faster tempo in the lead than he had hoped. K C Ng was advised that whilst the Stewards acknowledged that he had to make some use of the horse in the early stages, in the circumstances, he should have made more of an effort to steady the tempo once he gained the lead. He was further advised to show the requisite judgement when leading races to ensure that his mounts can finish off as best as able. A veterinary inspection of GOLDINGTON HORN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and also revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDINGTON HORN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. The Club’s Racing Medical Officer reported that U Rispoli, who was kicked on the right thigh when dismounting from GOLDEN PARTNERS, sustained no discernible injury and was fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements. A veterinary inspection of LOYAL CRAFTSMAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. PROUD SKY and AUDACITY were sent for sampling. <18/12/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>LOYAL CRAFTSMAN, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. LOYAL CRAFTSMAN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, LOYAL CRAFTSMAN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
