BE MY SONG began awkwardly. From a wide barrier, on jumping, WIN WIN FORTUNE was taken across behind runners. In the early stages, SUPERNOVA was taken back. Also in the early stages, JOLLY WONGCHOY proved difficult to settle. From a wide barrier, SHATIN WIN WIN was taken back in the early stages, then proved difficult to settle, on a number of occasions got its head up, then near the 700 Metres became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOUND OF SILENCE. Then making the Home Turn, SHATIN WIN WIN hung out. In the early part of the Straight, SOHNA was steadied and shifted in to obtain clear running. Also in the early part of the Straight, SIMPLY JOY was not able to obtain clear running and at the 300 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of BE MY SONG to go forward. Throughout the race, EXPEDITIOUS travelled wide and without cover. The performance of WIN WIN FORTUNE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WIN WIN FORTUNE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, M Nunes (FORTUNE GALLOP) said from a more favourable barrier draw today he was asked to ride the horse in a prominent position. He said accordingly he crossed to race on the rail after the 1400 Metres, then took a trailing position behind the leader. He said FORTUNE GALLOP raced in a manner which showed the horse still lacked maturity. He said when awkwardly placed after the 200 Metres FORTUNE GALLOP was reluctant to hold its position and he then checked his mount to ensure that it did not strike the heels of other runners. B Prebble (CASH MONEY) explained his mount travelled kindly throughout the run in a midfield position. He said in the Straight CASH MONEY kept on without quickening to take runs which were available to it. He said CASH MONEY did not quicken today in the manner in which it has in recent starts and the horse felt to him as though it was reluctant to let down fully. CASH MONEY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SHATIN WIN WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CASH MONEY and SHATIN WIN WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPERNOVA and SOHNA were sent for sampling.
