On April 8th, the horse completed a strong dirt trial over 1200m, finishing first in all three sections and demonstrating good concentration. Six weeks ago, over the same distance, it ran well despite a slow start, settling towards the rear with a steady pace before making a late run under pressure. A subsequent barrier trial showed improvement. This race features a one-pound weight reduction; the horse has previously won twice at this distance. The competition is relatively even, and an inside draw was secured. Matthew Poon will ride, having some understanding of the horse’s capabilities. Although potentially settling towards the rear, its finishing kick may not be as strong as rivals, making for a less favorable position. Trainer-jockey combination isn't ideal, suggesting a potential early move is unlikely.
