On April 8th, the horse recorded sections of 6-5-5-6 in a turf trial over 1600m, moving out on the bend and responding only moderately to urging from the 300m mark. Five weeks ago, he ran well over a Happy Valley mile, jumping slowly but settling back in the field before making ground in the middle stages, chasing Last Kingdom. He finished within three and a half lengths of the winner, demonstrating good ability. A subsequent barrier trial yielded no significant performance indicators. Stepping up to Sha Tin over 1600m this time with a 2lb rise in weight, the distance appears suitable; an inside draw is favorable, trainer and jockey are working well together, suggesting potential for a strong showing.
