Seven days ago, over Sha Tin 1200m, the horse performed steadily, jumping slowly and settling towards the back before making a move in the middle stages but failing to sustain it to the finish. Racing again within two weeks, switching to dirt over 1200m for its first attempt at this distance, it will carry four pounds less and has drawn an inside barrier. The tactics are expected to be to settle back and rely on a strong finishing kick, which is considered the best in its group. Despite these advantages, the horse may not fully suit this distance, and there’s a perceived lack of synergy between trainer and jockey. A place finish is hoped for.
