On April 15th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse responding well to gentle urging, gradually moving forward and performing satisfactorily. Four weeks ago, in a dirt mile, the performance was poor; a slow start led to settling towards the back with a steady pace and no significant acceleration, resulting in a heavy defeat. A subsequent barrier trial showed moderate form. Returning to Happy Valley over a mile for its first run, this time it needs to carry one extra pound, faces tough competition within its group, and has drawn a poor barrier – an unfavorable situation despite having previous results over this distance; however, it’s not considered a strong contender in this race.
