Two weeks ago (14/4), during a dirt trial over 1200m, the horse was lightly ridden and tracked the pace. Four weeks prior, in a mile race on dirt, it performed reasonably well; a slow start saw it settle towards the rear but finished with a strong stretch run, beaten by one and a half lengths for sixth place. A subsequent barrier trial showed it struggling to keep up with the leading pace. Another Happy Valley 1800m trial sees the horse carrying an additional four pounds this time, running at a comparable speed to its group, and drawing a favorable barrier. The trainer and jockey are working well together and appear tense. While likely to race from behind, its finishing kick may not be sufficient against rivals, making its chances uncertain.
