Three weeks ago, this horse ran well over a Happy Valley mile, jumping moderately and settling towards the back before accelerating in the final two sections with good speed. He finished fifth, beaten two and a half lengths. A subsequent trial over 1800m at Happy Valley showed promise, and this time benefits from a one-pound weight reduction despite drawing a poor barrier. The plan is to settle him back in the field, though his finishing kick may not be strong enough to compete with rivals, putting him at a disadvantage. However, section times were respectable, trainer and jockey are in good communication, and training has been positive, suggesting potential for improvement.
