Five weeks ago, it ran a respectable race over a Happy Valley mile, jumping slowly and settling towards the back before accelerating in the middle stages with good momentum to finish third, beaten two and a half lengths – a solid performance. A recent barrier trial showed only moderate form. Now stepping up to 1800m at Happy Valley for the first time, the horse benefits from a two-pound weight reduction; the increased distance is expected to suit it well. If able to secure a good position tracking the leaders and with a favorable draw, its finishing kick is likely the strongest in this group, giving it a strong chance. The jockey understands how to manage the horse’s pace, and trainer/jockey are aligned, suggesting potential for success.
