On April 29th, a dirt trial over 1200m saw the horse ridden around the bend, encountering interference at the 300m mark before making a move. Four weeks ago, in a Happy Valley mile race, it jumped slowly and settled towards the rear, maintaining a steady pace but lacking a strong finishing kick. It finished seventh, beaten three lengths. One barrier trial was undertaken, considered insufficient preparation. Switching to a longer distance at Happy Valley this time, it’s a first attempt at this trip and will carry an additional 3 pounds. The distance is expected to suit, allowing the horse to settle in a good position tracking the leaders. Drawing a favorable barrier enhances its chances; connections believe it possesses potential.
