On April 29th (dirt trial 1200m: 8-8-8), the horse showed a steady performance without pushing hard. A recent winner, four weeks ago over the same distance, it ran well with a slow jump and settled towards the rear, maintaining a consistent pace before accelerating to win. In a subsequent barrier trial, it didn't fully extend itself. Moving up in class this time with a 14-pound weight reduction, and drawing a favorable barrier, the horse has shown decent form over this distance and good times within its group. Based on relative ability, it appears to be the strongest contender in this race. Trainer and jockey have a reasonable rapport, although a hold-up tactic is anticipated, with concerns about lacking a strong finishing kick compared to rivals; hoping for a solid run.
