On 2/5, the horse completed a dirt trial over 1050m in sections of 5-5-5, moving out from the bend and settling behind the leaders. This horse is a recent winner, having performed well three weeks ago over the same distance, tracking the pace and finishing strongly to take victory. A subsequent barrier trial showed he struggled to keep up with the leading pace. Now stepping up in class, this time he benefits from an 11-pound weight reduction. He has proven form over this distance and a comparable time to others in his group. The plan is to settle back in the field and rely on a finishing kick, which appears strong compared to his rivals. Overall, he demonstrates superior ability relative to other competitors. Andrea Atzeni takes the ride, forming a good partnership with both the horse and trainer; another win looks achievable.
