Six days ago, over Sha Tin 1400m, the performance was reasonable; he led comfortably, accelerated in the middle stages but couldn't sustain it to the finish. He finished fifth, beaten three and a half lengths. Racing again after two weeks, switching to dirt over a mile for his debut at this distance, he benefits from a 3lb weight reduction. The step up in trip is expected to suit him, and he has the potential to track or lead. Drawing an inside barrier, a clean break and willingness to go forward are key to a strong performance.
