On May 20th, in a dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 7-6-4), the horse was briefly blocked at the 300m mark and settled back. On May 9th, during a Happy Valley turf barrier trial over 1700m (sections: 9-8-7-3), it trailed behind before accelerating downhill, moving out on the turn and responding well to urging in the final section finishing third. Four weeks ago, this horse delivered a strong performance over Sha Tin’s 1800m turf, with a slow start but a strong late run, securing second place, beaten by only half a length. Two barrier trials have shown slight improvement. Stepping up to a longer Happy Valley distance for its debut, the horse carries just a one-pound penalty this time and is expected to thrive over this trip; it needs to settle back and utilize its finishing kick which appears to be the strongest in the field. While the draw is unfavorable, connections are hoping for a good run.
