He made a strong effort in the middle stages, challenging for third place, finishing beaten three lengths. This time with a one-pound weight reduction, having previously won twice at this distance, and competitive sectionals against similar horses, he has drawn a favorable barrier which is advantageous. Based on relative ability, he appears to be the strongest contender in this race. The jockey understands the horse’s temperament well and has been working hard in trackwork. Despite needing to settle towards the rear again, his finishing kick may not match rivals; trainer-jockey synergy isn't ideal, but a reversal of form remains possible.
