On May 23rd, a turf trial over 1600m at Conghua saw the horse stride out powerfully and improve with each section (recorded positions: 2-1-1-1). A further trial on May 13th over 1200m also at Conghua showed improvement compared to the previous run (recorded positions: 7-7-6). Four weeks ago, in a Sha Tin 1800m race, the horse performed well despite a slow start and settling towards the rear. It made good progress during the middle stages, maintained a strong gallop, and finished fourth, beaten by two and a half lengths – demonstrating decent ability. Two barrier trials have shown slight improvement. Now switching to a longer distance race at Happy Valley for its debut over this course, it benefits from a one-pound weight reduction but the distance is not ideal. The horse is expected to be held up in the run; however, its finishing kick may not be strong enough against rivals, and trainer-jockey combination isn’t considered optimal. Despite drawing a good barrier and a jockey change to Matthew Chadwick, who has some understanding of the horse's capabilities, it’s likely being used as a trial race only.
