On May 22nd (dirt trial 1200m: 10-9-3), slightly urged over the final two furlongs, accelerating in third. On May 6th (dirt trial 1200m: 5-4-5), travelled wide throughout with a relaxed pace. On April 17th (dirt trial 1200m: 4-4-5), settled comfortably in mid-division with an easy stride. Two months ago, this horse ran well over Sha Tin’s 2000m turf, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before making good late ground with a fast final two sections, finishing beaten two lengths in sixth. After a short break, he has had three barrier trials showing slight improvement. Stepping up in class now, returning to Sha Tin over 1600m this time carrying 11 pounds less weight. He has form over this distance and good sectionals compared to rivals; drawing an inside barrier suggests a hold-up tactic. The horse appears the strongest in his group, and the jockey seems aware of his potential, with trainer confidence also high – he is considered a leading contender.
