On March 6th, a turf trial over 1000m saw this horse finish with sections of 2-2-4, slightly stumbling at the jump and needing urging from the 200m mark to maintain pace. Seven weeks ago, in a Sha Tin mile race, the performance was poor; a slow start led to settling towards the rear, maintaining an even pace but without any noticeable acceleration, resulting in a significant defeat. Following a short break, a recent barrier trial showed only moderate form. Returning for its first run at Happy Valley over 1200m this time with a 2lb weight reduction, the horse faces a less favorable situation due to a perceived lack of synergy between trainer and jockey. Despite having two previous wins over this distance and comparable times within its group, drawing a good barrier and the appointment of Harry Bentley—who has some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities—offer a glimmer of hope, as training appears positive."
