AMAZING GAZE

On June 13th (Conghua turf trial 1600m: 3-3-3-2), the horse settled comfortably in a mid-pack position, improving when asked to move up. On May 30th (Conghua turf trial 1600m: 1-2-2-1) he tracked closely with clear running room, showing both early speed and finishing kick. On May 13th (Conghua turf trial 1200m: 9-9-7), the start was slow, settling in a trailing position. On May 5th (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 7-5-5) he also broke slowly and lacked strong pace throughout. On April 28th (Conghua turf trial 800m: 5-4-4), he raced in mid-division, responding well when prompted by the rider. This is his debut run as a new winner; commenced training in Hong Kong in mid-March. He has trialled five times this season with reasonable performances, displaying a low action but moderate speed, performing better over distances up to a mile. For this first start, he’s drawn well and with a slow pace anticipated and few front runners, a clean break and an intention to lead should provide a good chance.
