On June 27th (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 8-6-3), the horse jumped slowly but made up ground from the back of the field, showing a decent stride. On June 13th (Conghua turf trial 1200m: 9-9-8), it was hampered and slowed down in the final section, not fully extending itself. A further turf trial over 1000m on March 25th saw it track the leaders throughout but also failed to showcase its full potential. Prior to April, in a race over this same distance, it performed respectably despite a very slow start and strong early pace. Following a period of rest, three trials have been undertaken, however, it hasn't reached peak fitness. This time with a one-pound weight reduction, having previously secured two wins over this course and distance, and facing comparable opposition times, drawing a favorable barrier, and with Hugh Bowman taking the ride – who has some familiarity with the horse - there is potential for a hold-up strategy. However, its finishing kick isn't as strong as rivals and overall form is questionable; the trainer-jockey relationship appears less harmonious, reducing chances.
