On June 30th (dirt trial 1200m, in running position of each section: 5-5-7), the horse settled mid-pack and showed a calm straight run. A last ran winner, four weeks ago over the same distance, he performed well, jumping slowly but finishing strongly to win by two and a half lengths. In a recent barrier trial, he struggled to keep pace with the leaders. This race requires carrying an additional five pounds. Having proven form over this distance, good times within the group, ability to settle in a good position tracking the leaders, and drawing a favorable barrier gives him a strong advantage. Horse, jockey and trainer appear well-matched and capable of another win.
