On June 26th, the horse recorded a strong dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 2-1-1), breaking clear of the field. Five weeks ago, in a similar race over the same distance, it performed well despite a slow start and settling towards the rear with a steady pace, finishing third after a good run but ultimately beaten by one and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial showed improvement. This time, the horse will carry seven pounds more weight. Considering the section times of its group, a hold-up tactic is likely required for this race; however, its finishing kick may not be strong enough to compete with rivals. Despite having won three races over this distance previously and drawing a favorable barrier, morning trackwork suggests only moderate improvement, and it’s unlikely to be a leading contender in this event.
