SUNDAY'S SERENADE

On June 27th, this horse completed a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua (sections: 4-5-6), showing good control and remaining relaxed. Six weeks ago, in a Happy Valley 1800m race, the performance was underwhelming, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with steady pace but lacking a finishing burst. A subsequent barrier trial revealed it struggled to keep up with the required tempo. Another turf trial over a mile at Happy Valley followed, this time with a two-pound weight reduction. Having previously secured two wins at this distance and with comparable times within its group, combined with a favorable barrier draw, the plan is to settle back in the field and rely on a strong finishing kick. Preparations are complete and the horse appears to be peaking for a potential win.
