Three weeks ago, over the same distance, this horse performed reasonably well despite a slow start and settling towards the rear. It showed a strong late run but was beaten two and a half lengths for sixth place. This time with a 2lb weight reduction, it has drawn an unfavorable barrier. The plan is to settle back in the field again; however, its finishing kick may not be enough against this competition, making its chances difficult despite having won twice over this course previously. While the group’s times are comparable, trainer and jockey maintain mutual trust, but appears unlikely to feature prominently this time.
