Three weeks ago, in a straight course race, the performance was acceptable despite a slow start and settling towards the rear. The horse made a mid-race effort but couldn't sustain it to the finish. Last start, he trialed over a Happy Valley 1200m. This time, he benefits from a two-pound weight reduction, good times in the group, and drew a favorable barrier with potential for an early lead. Matthew Poon takes the ride, familiar with the horse's temperament. He had gate work before this race showing positive signs, though the situation is unfavorable and trainer/jockey relationship isn’t ideal, a clean break and intention to lead are key to a forward run.
