On August 25th, this horse completed an eight-hundred meter turf trial at Conghua finishing in sections of 5-8-7, returning with an unremarkable performance. This is his seasonal debut and a subsequent barrier trial showed no improvement. Another trial over a Happy Valley 1200m distance revealed a one-pound weight reduction for this race; however, he has failed to win in three previous attempts at this course and distance, and drew a poor barrier. Despite these setbacks, the horse’s group time was respectable, trainer and jockey are aligned in their expectations, and there is potential for an immediate impact.
