On 23/9, the horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-6) with moderate effort. Three weeks ago, over a Happy Valley mile, the performance was poor, settling in a good position tracking the leaders at a steady pace but lacking a finishing surge; beaten two and a half lengths, finished fifth. A subsequent barrier trial showed it unable to keep up with the required pace. Another turf trial over 1400m revealed this horse will need to be held up in this race, however, its finishing kick is inferior to rivals. Despite a similar time compared to others in its group and drawing an inside barrier, opportunities appear limited.
