Three weeks ago, over the same distance, this horse performed exceptionally well. A slow jump saw it settling towards the rear before making a strong late run in the final two sections with good speed. It finished third, beaten by only half a length – demonstrating a high level of performance. This time, no additional weight will be carried and has proven form over this distance; its section times are competitive within the group. Drawing an inside barrier, the plan is to settle back early and rely on a strong finishing kick which appears the best in the field. The horse’s overall ability looks good relative to its rivals. With Derek Leung taking the ride, jockey, trainer and horse seem well-matched, and recovery from previous losses is expected.
