THE CONCENTRATION

Three weeks ago, this horse ran very impressively over a Sha Tin 1200m, jumping slowly and settling back in the field before making up ground with fast sections. Another trial over a Sha Tin 1400m sees him with a three-pound weight reduction, but timing differences within the group aren't ideal, and there seems to be limited synergy between trainer and jockey. Even if performing well at this distance, a hold-up tactic is expected, relying on a strong finishing kick which is his strength compared to others in the field; the jockey has some understanding of the horse’s ability but no clear advantage apparent.
