Three weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Sha Tin 1200m, taking the lead but lacking any impressive sections and finishing fourth. In a subsequent trial at Happy Valley over 1200m, it will carry one pound more this time. Although able to settle in a good position tracking the leaders with a favorable barrier draw and showing a decent finishing kick, its group timing was unremarkable. Luke Ferraris takes the ride, having a good understanding of the horse's temperament, and pre-race preparation has been thorough. However, there are concerns about the overall form of its stablemates and a perceived lack of synergy between trainer and jockey; a slow start is anticipated.
