The jump wasn't quick, and settled towards the back of the field, showing a strong late run but finishing three and a half lengths behind in eighth place. A subsequent dirt trial over 1200m, this time with a three-pound weight reduction, against comparable times within its group. Expecting to settle towards the rear again, possessing the strongest finishing kick amongst its rivals. Lyle Hewitson takes the ride, gaining some understanding of the horse’s capabilities; trainer and jockey have a good rapport. Despite an unfavorable outside barrier draw, it is still expected to be competitive.
