VOYAGE SAMURAI

On December 22nd, the horse completed a dirt trial over 1200m in sections of 2-2-4, tracking closely behind the leaders and showing some finishing effort. Five weeks ago, in a similar race, the performance was poor; it led but faded significantly after maintaining a good pace through the first two sections. A previous barrier trial showed only moderate form. This time, it will carry an additional five pounds and has drawn an unfavorable outside barrier. Despite having won three times over this distance previously, the overall time in its group is not exceptional, however, it possesses early speed potential. It’s been undergoing intensified training, but remains a doubtful contender for this race.
