On February 27th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settle towards the outside and perform adequately (7-9-6 sections). Five weeks prior, over the same distance, it delivered a strong performance, settling towards the rear with a consistent pace before closing late to finish second, beaten by half a length. A subsequent barrier trial showed no noticeable improvement. Time figures are among the best in its group, with an overall rating ranking it as a leading contender. The jockey has a reasonable understanding of the horse’s temperament, and trainer/jockey synergy appears positive. However, it carries a 3lb penalty this time, has failed to place in three previous attempts at this distance, and drew a less-than-ideal barrier. Despite these factors, it remains competitive.
