RELIABLE DAD

March 6th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settle comfortably in mid-division with a smooth run. Five weeks ago, it ran well over 1800m at Sha Tin, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before maintaining a steady pace and finishing strongly to take third place, beaten by one and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial didn't show significant improvement. Now switching to Happy Valley over 1800m for its course debut, the horse benefits from a one-pound weight reduction and has acceptable time figures. A hold-up tactic is expected, possessing the strongest finishing kick in the group. Despite a slightly unfavorable draw and a less established rapport between trainer and jockey, it remains competitive for a place.
