On March 10th (dirt trial 1200m: 2-2-1), the horse travelled comfortably tracking the leaders, increasing pace in the final stages. Six weeks ago, this horse performed poorly over a Sha Tin 1600m turf race, settling towards the rear and weakening at the end. A recent barrier trial showed improvement. Dropping back to Happy Valley over 1200m after a higher class run, the horse will carry six pounds less this time. Having previously won twice over this distance, with competitive sectionals and an advantageous draw, connections are positive in its preparation. Even if finishing speed is slightly lacking and the trainer-jockey combination isn’t perfect, it can still be considered for placing contention.
