On March 20th, this horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 9-8-4), tracking the pace from 800m and making ground along the straight. Four weeks ago, over a Happy Valley mile, it ran decently, leading comfortably and maintaining a good stride in the final stages, beaten three and a half lengths. A recent barrier trial showed satisfactory performance. Switching to dirt over 1800m this time, it’s a first attempt at this distance. Carrying one pound less weight, the trip should suit. Time figures were reasonable, with an advantageous barrier draw. The jockey knows the horse well and trainer-jockey combination is acceptable, although facing slightly unfavorable conditions and showing a weaker finishing kick, it shouldn’t be completely ruled out.
