On May 22nd, he ran a dirt trial over 1200m (6-4-2), progressively moving forward with a recovered run. On May 11th, he won in a Happy Valley turf trial over 1200m (3-2-1), showing smooth form. Three months ago, he ran a decent race over a Happy Valley mile, but was slow to jump out and tracked near the rear with a steady pace along the way, slowly closing in at the finish. After two more trials, he showed slight improvement. Having run over Sha Tin over 1400m previously, this time he carries four pounds less. He has experience at this distance and the group size is manageable. Training is active, and despite potentially unfavorable conditions or needing to track from further back, lacking the finishing kick of rivals, or without a standout partnership between jockey and trainer, he still has a chance to place.
